Construction’s complete and all the inspections have passed. I’ve been waiting for this day for almost a year. You can bet I’m going to be going through looking for all the sprinklers and finding the best fire exit before I start my first shift.

Unlike the original opening a decade ago when all the celebs came out, management has decided (rightly so) that this is going to be a subdued affair.

Hopefully, the opening will go well. I think the hotel should draw guests without much issue for most, since the latest and greatest safety measures were integrated into the new renovation. They also altered the new Jubilee tower build-in-progress to include the same safety features. They made a HUGE deal about it in the papers and on the local news, and I’d be surprised if the national news didn’t also mention it. So, here’s hoping I’ll still have a job in a few months, fingers crossed.

Time to limber up my fingers and get back into dealer mode. I’ve been able to stay afloat helping my dad with deliveries, but that also means that my card skills have gone a little by the wayside.
