Along with my Christmas bonus, I got a suprise. Ed says he’s promoting me to Pit Boss for the late afternoon/evening shift! I’ll be responsible for overseeing all the table games in the Main Casino, including the Baccarat Pit. I’ll have a team of three other people, each with their own specialty (Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and Big Six) reporting to me, while I keep an eye on the Pai Gow tables along with the aforementioned Baccarat Pit.

I’m nervous, but he wouldn’t have offered me the position if he didn’t think I could do it. It comes with a nice pay bump, too, as well as use of one of the suites! I start after the first of the year. Maybe after a few months of working hard, I can ask if I can have a different suite. The one they showed me is great, and I don’t want a bigger one, per se, but I’d certainly like one that doesn’t make me feel… weird. I have to admit that going into the hotel section spooks me out a bit. It didn’t used to before the fire…

I swear this place is haunted.
